Prasanna Venkatesha Acharya
Shri Prasanna Venkatesha Acharya was born in the year 1970, in a small village called ‘Maniyur’, near the most sacred Temple town of Udupi, in the West Coast of south India, as the son of a very pious couple, Shri Govindacharya and Kamalamma. It is relevant to mention that his elder brother assumed Sanyasa and became the pontiff of Shri Puttige Matha, Shri Madhwacharya Samsthana, at the tender age of 10.
Being born as the brother of such a great soul, Prasannacharya was destined to have in-depth study of Madhwa shastra right from his boyhood in the most traditional way of Gurukula type of teaching, under the guidance of none other than Shri Vidyamanya Teertha Swamiji who was the fountain head of inspiration to study Madhwa shastra for the whole generation of his time. The said Gurukula was the brain child of Shri Vibhudesha Teertha Swamiji of shri Adamara Matha, whose contribution for the cause of education in our country should be seen to be believed. Tens of thousands of students of his educational institutions in Delhi Bombay, Bangalore and other places, here in India and abroad, owe their superior quality education of his efforts. After such astounding initiation, Prasannacharya completed his equivalent of post graduation in Dwaita Vedanta from Maharaja Samskrit Pathashala of Udupi.
Born and brought up in the company of some of the most dedicated Swamijis of Astamatha of our times, in an atmosphere nothing short of hermitage, his life also was moulded suitably for the cause of Madhwa shastra and its propagation to the devout society.
Later in life, with commendable courage and efficiency, He handled various responsibilities during the second Paryaya of shri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji of Shri Puttige Matha, who could have been called his brother before he assumed Sanyasa and became the pontiff of shri Puttige Matha. Prasannacharya took up the publication of Shri Suguna Mala and under his able leadership; the periodical reached thousands of devotees.
In addition to his Post graduation in Sanskrit from formal University Education, He studied Shri Man Nyayasudha, in the traditional way of discourse from Shri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji, who had adorned the Sarvagna Peetha then.
Prasanna Venkatesha found ‘Laxmi Acharya’ his life partner, perfect match to his dedicated life in the year 1997 and is blessed with a promising son ‘Satwik’. Presently he is engaged in the task of taking the preaching of Shri Madhwacharya to the vast sections of Indians who are spread all over the world and especially in US and Canada. His hard work and service in establishing of religious centers by Shri Puttige Matha in Places like New Jersey, Phoenix, Houston, Los Angeles and Toronto in Canada, is simply invaluable. He has been Instrumental in materializing the various religious schemes and ideas of shri Puttige Swamiji, who strives to find a universal conglomerate of religious heads for the cause of welfare of the Humanity. Shri Sugunendra Teertha Swamiji is presently the chairperson of WCRP and as the representative of the head of WCRP -Prasannacharya has rendered his humble service for the propagation of world peace at that Forum. Prasannacharya is a simple man of affable personality with sharp intellect and a reliable friend with profound Knowledge Madhwa Philosophy.
